사기꾼들은 가짜 거래소 앱을 다운받게 하여 초기에는 수익을 내서 출금도 해주지만, 투자금이 커지면 갑자기 세금이나 수수료 명목으로 추가 입금을 요구하고 잠적합니다. 한 번 송금한 암호화폐는 추적이 불가능에 가까우므로, 온라인에서 만난 사람이 투자를 권유하면 100% 사기로 간주해야 합니다.
